Interest Group (SIG)/ Embryology
the SIG Embryology
The scope of SIG Embryology is comprehensive, incorporating all from
basic scientific advances
to laboratory practices and policy guidance. It is the main concern
for many MEFS members who are interested in the present and future
developments of clinical embryology.
The goal of SIG Embryology is to enhance the continuous professional
improvement of scientists and laboratory specialists working in the
Reproductive Biology and applied Assisted Reproductive Technologies
(ART). SIG Embryology supports standards of excellence in research
and laboratory applications. It encourages the energetic
contribution of its members based on higher education credentials or
laboratory experience, aiming to provide a positive contribution to
SIG Embryology and to the MEFS.
Under the umbrella of MEFS, SIG Embryology is focused on organizing
embryology scientific sessions, pre-congress courses and workshops,
producing comprehensive guidelines for laboratories in clinical
embryology, performing patient education programs, establishment of
interactive web-based information and -in the near future- setting
up a certification for embryologists as well as MEFS embryo-mail. We
would very much welcome your feedback on these ideas, and also
suggestions for new ideas of future priorities for the SIG or our
Generally, members of SIG Embryology are individuals having
membership of MEFS. All members of SIG Embryology are welcome to
participate in all activities within the group such as scientific
program, interactive web-based information resources, surveys and
patient education programs supported by SIG Embryology.
